Visiting Scholars of Fudan University: In 2016, Fudan University established the Visiting Scholars Program of Fudan University to invite high-end overseas scholars to visit Fudan and promote academic exchanges with Fudan teachers and students through academic forums, lectures, seminars and other forms. The program receives about 50 academic visitors every year from science, engineering, medicine, social sciences and other fields. Honorary Fudan Scholar, Distinguished Fudan Scholar and Fudan Scholar are Honorary Fudan Scholar, Distinguished Fudan Scholar and Fudan Scholar. The Fudan Visiting Scholar Program not only adds an international academic atmosphere to the campus of Fudan University, but also plays a positive role in promoting the international academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation of Fudan University.

Eligibility for application:Winners of international top science and technology awards such as Nobel Prize, Turing Prize and Fields Medal (Honorary Scholar is recommended); Scholars recommended by experts as having the potential to receive the above awards, including academicians of different countries or top scholars with equivalent academic titles (it is recommended to apply for Distinguished Fudan Scholar); Scholars under the age of 35 with outstanding scientific potential (including postdocs, it is recommended to apply for Fudan Scholar); People with advanced academic exchange and research ability who have worked in the government, international organizations or large enterprises (it is recommended to select the corresponding level of application according to the actual situation)

Funding criteria: The academic remuneration during the visit, as well as the academic, office and accommodation places, the academic remuneration of different levels of visiting scholars set different standards.


Fudan scholar:Fudan University was founded in 1905. After more than 100 years of evolution, Fudan University has gradually developed into a comprehensive research-oriented university integrating humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and medical disciplines. In recent years, relying on its profound academic resources, Fudan University has actively carried out international cooperation and exchanges and dialogues with the international academic community. The program Fudan Fellow aims to invite outstanding scholars from overseas to engage in scientific research in fields such as literature, science and medical engineering on Fudan campus.

The goals of the Fudan Scholars Program are:

1. Strengthen academic ties between overseas scholars and Fudan University faculty and students;

2. To provide overseas scholars with an in-depth understanding of China and the opportunity to engage in China-related research;

3. Develop partnerships between Fudan University and outstanding overseas universities and academic institutions.

Application requirements: Associate professors or professors of Fudan Partner schools are eligible to apply. This program does not confer a degree. All applicants must:

1. Have an ongoing research project or topic;

2. Use Chinese or English as the working language;

3. Have a foreign nationality and work full-time for a foreign organization.

Access requirement:The duration of visit for Fudan scholars is 30 to 60 days, usually no more than 90 days. During the visit, each Fudan scholar will give a lecture or host a seminar or other academic activities at least once a month. Fudan University encourages Fudan scholars to publish relevant papers after the completion of the program, and indicate the status of Fellow of Fudan University, and keep a paper in Fudan University.
