Cloud-Native is a new concept and technology that emerged during the development of cloud computing and application software cloudification. It mainly includes containers, microservices, service mesh, etc. A large number of software applications have adopted cloud-native technology, making software development, deployment, and operation more efficient, flexible, and convenient. Cloud-native also plays a significant role in mobile networks. For example, cloudification can help operators enhance their service delivery capabilities, improve service quality, and reduce operating costs. Moreover,it promotes cooperation among multiple vendors. In the design of 5G networks, cloud-native has been introduced into the core network. In the future space Internet, network simplification and intelligence will play a greater role, and naturally, cloud-native technology is an indispensabletechnology for them.

This research direction focuses on the application of cloud-native architecture and technology in the next generation of mobile networks. The specific research areas: cloud-native core network scheduling in 5G networks, cloud-native access network scheduling in 5G networks, cloudification deployment of access networks, endogenous intelligence, distributed resource allocation, edge computing, machine learning, and establishing new network theories and methods by cross-disciplinary and fusion with biology, neuroscience, and other disciplines.
