At 10:30 am on May 19, 2023, Professor Gao Yue invited 11 students from Tengfei College Technical Science Experimental Class to attend the meeting in Conference Room A2003, Building 2, Jiangwan Campus. Wang Xiong, Associate researcher of INC Research Group, will first introduce the science popularization of satellite Internet.
Afterwards, Professor Gao Yue introduced the general situation of INC Lab and the main research directions of cloud native network, Sky and Earth network and intelligent spectrum sensing. He talked with 11 students one by one and asked them about the problems and puzzles they encountered in study and life, including the concerns of choosing different majors, how to balance inter-school communication activities and daily learning. As well as how to identify research interest points as soon as possible and join the laboratory to carry out real scientific research activities as soon as possible, Professor Gao Yue answered them one by one, gave valuable suggestions to teachers, and actively offered help to students.
Finally, senior engineer Pei Xuming from the INC research group led the students to the open space in front of the Crossover No.2 subject building and showed the phased array antenna equipment of the INC laboratory. The students listened carefully to Teacher Pei's introduction of the working principle and structure of the antenna, and took out their mobile phones to try to connect the device with the satellite. The students said it was a brand new experience. I not only have a clearer understanding of the majors to be distributed, but also stimulate my interest in scientific research in advance.
The 11 students are freshmen and are expected to be transferred to the School of Computer Science, the School of Information Science or the School of Big Data in the summer. This exchange meeting not only enhanced the interaction between teachers and students, but also helped students to answer questions and make suitable choices in the aspects of specialization, daily study life, exchange and other aspects.
